Civil Liberties Expert Will Cite Violations at HLU Meeting Tonight

Specific violations of the civil rights of American citizens will be the subject of a talk tonight by Miss Sylvia Slade, representative of the Massachusetts Civil Liberties Union at a meeting of the Liberal Union scheduled for 7:30 o'clock at Phillips Brooks House. The topic is "Civil Liberties and Liberals."

Famous for the organized defense against all infringements on basic Constitutional liberties the CLU was instrumental last July in obtaining withdrawal of the Cambridge City Manager's order preventing the Liberal Union from distributing pro-OPA leaflets from a booth in the Square.

HLU Supports Rally

In conjunction with other colleges of the Boston area, the HLU is sponsoring the Saturday night Jordan Hall rally of the Intercollegiate Committee to End Lynching. Proceeds of the rally will enable delegates from participating schools to attend the coming meetings of the American Crusade to End Lynching.
