Harvey Love Rejoins Crew Mentors After Navy Duty

Harvey Love, coach of Freshman crew from 1936 to 1942, has returned to Tom Bolies's staff after a four year tour of duty with the Navy and will be available to prepare the Varsity for its first formal season since the beginning of the war, since Freshman crew will not be resumed until next fall.

Coxswain of the 1933 and 1934 University of Washington crews, Love served as commanding officer of a destroyer escort during the war and was stationed finally in Tokyo. His return brings the Charles River staff back to pre-war strength.
