Sam Felton, Varsity weight-thrower, took second place Saturday afternoon in the 35-pound throw at the annual West Point relays. He was the only Crimson representative at the meet.
Felton's throw of 51 feet, 3 1/2 inches bettered the former meet record set by Feltman, of Dartmouth, in 1946, but Max Padla, 28-year-old Freshman from N.Y.U., heaved the weight 52 feet, 9 1/4 inches to take first place. The Varsity performer, who lives in New York, had returned home last week after the conclusion of his examinations, and made the trip to West Point from there. Felton, Jack Fisher, Bill Jackson, and Phil Zeigler will be Coach Jaakko Mikkola's four-star entry in the 35-pound event this season.
