Greeley Nets Three, Ayres Two, As Princeton Drops to Last Place in Big Three Tourney

Four-goal attacks in the second and third periods dropped the Princeton hockey team with its second Big Three setback last night at the Arena as Johnny Chase's pucksters came out of their losing streak with a bang, 9 to 2.

The last period spurt was sparked by wingman Sid Greeley, who tallied three times. Lou Preston drew first blood in the game with a magnificent solo dash around the Tiger defense after picking up the disc at mid-ice. He was subsequently forced to leave the game with an injury.

The Crimson had almost complete control of the play after several early Princeton threats, staging extended scrimmages in front of the opposing cage. Meanwhile netman Bill Yetman, still subbing for the ailing Jack Lavaile, had hardly enough work to earn his night's pay.

Coulter Praised

Chase praised especially the work of Charlie Coulter, currently being groomed at second defense. "He's come a long way in the past three games," said the coach, "and looks like one of the most promising defensemen on the squad."

Outstanding for Princeton was goalie Steve White, who was shelled continually by the hard-shooting Crimson in jamups near the cage and also warded off frequent one and two-man breakaways.

The Tigers used a six-man attack at the close of the second period, taking out the goalie in a vain effort to narrow the three-point Crimson lead when Coulter drew a two-minute penalty.
