Pop Hits and Politics: At Yardfest, Students Dance to Bedingfield and a Student Band Condemns Trump
Plans for the Jubilee moved into more definite focus last night as the committee announced a further widening of its program for the all-college weekend in May.
Polling of undergraduates to determine their wishes for the Jubilee will begin today or tomorrow when the committee will distribute blanks requesting information on anticipated student activities for the weekend of May 10.
Although final decisions will necessarily wait upon the answers to the poll, the committee has outlined some of the features which it hopes to present. Details of a "Night Club" program on Friday night, May 9, with well-known entertainers and a different band from the one which is to appear on Saturday, are under consideration at present. This affair will include an informal dance as well as other entertainment.
Yardlings Have First Chance
Sale of tickets will begin Monday, when both stag and couple admissions will be sold for $6. Yardlings will get the first chance to buy these, as sale in the Houses will not begin until a later date.
Announcement of a "Jubilee Queen" will be one of the features of the Saturday formal. A group of judges, to be announced by the committee, will handle the choosing of the fortunate miss.
John L. Kice '50 will be in charge of all decorations for both the Friday and Saturday affairs.
