Boston Recovery Suit Leaves Local Club Positions in Doubt

While the Harvard Club of Boston sought to recover over $15,000 in restaurant taxes from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the position of the various undergraduate eating clubs was not ascertainable yesterday.

A survey disclosed that some organizations have been making allowance for the Old Age Tax, while others have not. None were certain of their positions in the event of their exemption.

The Harvard Club of Boston brought suit on Wednesday to recover taxes from which, it was claimed, the club had been exempted on the grounds that it was a purely social organization.
