To compensate for a weeklong Business School summer holiday, the University tennis championships have been pushed back a week and the first round will begin next Wednesday instead of having boon completed by then.
The registration list will be kept open for B-School students and tardy College men throughout Monday and Tuesday, and match play will carry on from there until the finals--one week later--on August 30.
The open singles appeared last night to be the most attractive of the four categories available to summer court enthusiasts with entries numbering 32. The fate of the other classes--open doubles, closed singles, and doubles--depends on interest shown by Wednesday in boosting the meagro registration lists.
Re-scheduling has moved the closing date for the first round to August 19, for the second round to August 23, and for the third round to August 27.
