FEBRUARY, 1947--Associated Harvard Clubs and Alumni Association pick 14-man Committee to recommend suitable war memorial.

OCTOBER, 1947--Committee recommends $200,000 plaque and $500,000 worth of scholarships.

FEBRUARY, 1948--Group turns to Memorial Church plaque and auditorium and activities center tied in to Memorial Hall. Cost: around $750,000.

APRIL, 1948--Estimated cost of center goes up, but Senator Saltonstall says planning will proceed.

OCTOBER 1948--Committee drops activities center for $50,000 plaque in Memorial Church.
