GOP, Democratic Groups Here Both See Election Win

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

College Republicans and Democrats will both throw victory parties tonight.

The Young Republican Club has taken over Memorial Hall for five hours of beer-drinking and dancing. The Democratic Club has joined forces with Students for Truman for two stag affairs.

Leaders of both groups were confident of success last night.

Women Politicos

The parties begin tonight at 8 p.m. HYRC members and their guests have been invited to the Republican festival, and girls from Radcliffe, Wellesley, and Simmons will be on hand.

The "G.O.P. Beauty Queen," Barbara. Sorenson, Radcliffe '51, will appear at the party, and awards will be made to winners of the Club's recent essay contests. Television and radio will keep tab on the national fight all night long.

Truman supporters will meet in Eliot B-32 and Winthrop J-11 for television-watching. Acting on a promise of the HYRC, the Democratic Party will evict the Republicans from Memorial Hall if Truman is winning by midnight.

Expect Senate Victories

The Liberal Union and Radcliffe Students for Democratic Action will listen to results in the Leverett Junior Common Room from 9 p.m. on. The groups are hoping chiefly for victories in the Senate and on the anti-labor referenda.

Patrick D. Dailey '50, president of Students for Truman, last night said that Truman would take the key states and carry the election. Charles K. McWhorter 3L, HYRC chief, said, "We're confident of victory."
