‘The Architect of the Whole Plan’: Harvard Law Graduate Ken Chesebro’s Path to Jan. 6
The first chill winds of November swept across Soldiers Field yesterday, but it's effect on the Varsity football team was not apparent. Inspired by watching the Holy Cross movies early in the afternoon, it proceeded onto the field for a long dummy scrimmage which lasted well after 6 p.m.
Although the team is still loosening up from Saturday's encounter and it is too early to determine injuries accurately, no damage was apparent at yesterday's session. Bob DiBlasio and Paul Shafer were both running with the squad, as were Hal Moffle and Chip Gannon.
Only Bradlee Is Lost
In fact, at this point the only man who will definitely be out next Saturday is Doug Bradiee, whose Dartmouth game injuries were aggravated in practice last week, sending him to Stillman. Sam Butler's status is still uncertain, but he is walking around and may be ready by the end of the week.
Valpey's opinion of the Holy Cross game remained fundamentaly unchanged after seeing the movies. He again praised Davis, Guidera, and Kanter for their smooth, poised play as starters, as well as singling out Howie Houston and Phil Isenberg for their customarily efficient play.
The entire squad's defensive play has improved, in the coaches' opinion, but Saturday's offense came in for criticism and took up the whole of yesterday's drill. Meanwhile, the Jayvees started to practice Princeton single wing plays for scrimmage in the next two days.
