Yard touch football scoring records went up in smoke yesterday as Holworthy rolled over Claverly, 36-6, in the top game of three played. The win boosted Holworthy into second place in the American League race.
Bill Hickey took charge of the winning attack, throwing four touchdown passes to Mike Park and tallying twice himself on an aerial from Brown and on an intercepted pass. Rothrauff got the Claverly TD on an intercepted pass runback.
Straus lost its first game of the season, falling by a 12-6 count to Matthews North. Straus got six points in the first quarter on a pas from Raphael to Borah but Matthews came back with markers in the second and third stanzas to win. Straus is protesting the loss.
