Jaakko Mikkola's Barriers racked up fix more defeats for the season in Saturday morning's Heptagonal meet in New York, but at the same time the Crimson outran Navy to sneak in its initial win.

Army dominated the race for the earth time in the ten championship runs that have been held to date. Cornell placed second, followed by Pennsylvania, Yale, Dartmonth, and Princeton. It was at this point that the Crimson contrived to outrun the Middies and force them late last place.

Jee Carleton ran "first for Harvard" by placing 26 in a field of 55 finishers. Dick Weich followed him across the well-trampled tape by coming in as number 34. Joe Leeming and John Cagon were 38 and 39, Mike Dorton slipped in as 45, and Arden Albee and Joe Rosen placed 51 and 54 respectively.

Columbia, the ninth team in the race, was unable to produce five finishers.
