Jazz Band Schedules Savoy Session After Lowell Debut

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Last Sunday 200 jazz enthusiasts crowded Lowell House Junior Common Room to hear five Harvard students and a Wellesley girl play music in "true Dixieland style."

The group was formed only two months ago by two of its members, Larry Eanet '52 and Walt Gifford '52, when they came to Harvard. Its members all have varied backgrounds ranging from playing with a professional group to singing with various dance bands. But they all have one thing in common, their love for playing and improving on New Orleans and later Chicago jazz standards.

This Sunday the jazz band which has already played at the Alibi Club in Lynn, will again join in the jazz sessions at the Savoy.

For the next few Sundays the group will be playing in spontaneous sessions at the Savoy Cafe.
