Radcliffe skiers are at work making plans to invade Vermont and New Hampshire ski slopes in organized groups during the mid-year vacation. Twenty-eight girls have already signed up to travel to Stowe, Vermont, for a winter weekend sponsored by the 'Cliffe Outing Club.

Since only 15 girls can be accommodated at the state ski dormitory at Stowe, Hildegarde Ruchkin '49 trip director for the club, announced yesterday that a second group will go to North Conway, New Hampshire, for the ski weekend.

State ski dormitories provide inexpensive rooms for college skiers going to those areas. Plans may seem to be a bit premature, Miss Ruchkin said, but reservation must be made in advance.

Last year marked the beginning of a phenomenal rise of ski enthusiasm at Radcliffe. Beginners in the sport trekked north in large groups to learn the art. Apparently neither broken skis nor broken ankles daunted the learners' spirits, since they are returning this year in larger groups and with more converts.

Students are dusting off their skis and ski talk is increasing like a snowball picking up snow. Private parties of "old-timers" will soon be heading to their old haunts. The first snow brought promises of a busy season for Radcliffe skiers.
