N. E. Religious Groups Begin Parley Today

Approximately 200 Harvard men and 25 Radcliffe girls will represent Harvard Square religious groups this weekend at the three-day conference of the New England Student Christian Movement at the Copley Square Churches.

Student delegations from colleges in the New England area will deal with the theme "The Student and the Task of the Church" from the viewpoint of the following religious groups: YMCA, YWCA, Student Volunteer Movement, College Chapel and Administration Association, and the Baptist, Congregational, Episcopal, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Unitarian Churches.

Speakers Named

Principal speakers for the conference are the Rev. Henry P. Van Dusen, president of the Union Theological Seminary in New York, and the Reverend Douglas Horton, chairman of the American section of the World Council of Churches. Denominations discussion groups will supplement the lecture program with Betty Heaton '51 and Michael McGiffert '49 slated to speak on "The Student's Attitude toward Christian Student Centers."

Margaret MacTavish '51, Sally Cahill '51, president of the Radcliffe Christion Fellowship, Albert M. Johnston 3G, Robert T. Lund '46, Christopher Moore '50, and Richard E. Pederson 1G served on the planning committee for the conference.
