Cambridge Police Chief John R. King lifted the ban yesterday which had closed 19 streets in the Cambridge-Somerville area to parking since last Wednesday. The recent three-day thaw has opened the thoroughfares to two-way traffic again.
The ruling had affected Brattle, Cambridge, Huron, and Mt. Auburn Streets between the hours of 8 to 10 o'clock in the morning and 4 to 6 o'clock in the afternoon.
Policemen, who during the ban had reported to work two hours earlier than scheduled to aid in traffic duty, have been ordered to come at their regular hour henceforth.
