Bob Claflin and Don Louria fought their way into the semi-finals of the Eastern Wrestling Championships yesterday at Lehigh as both won their preliminaries by pins and captured the quarter-finals by decisions.
In the Unlimited class, Captain Pete Fuller got as far as the quarter-finals before losing a close match to Lehigh's mastodon, 4 to 2. Dan Ray, who drew a bye into the second round, was also eliminated.
In the 155 pound class, Jim Conant was pinned by Lehigh's Eric Erikson, the current favorite to carry off the group title. The sixth Crimson team member, Dan Coombs, lost his preliminary in a tight 2 to 0 bout.
Other colleges included in the tourney are: Army, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Franklin and Marshall, Lehigh, Navy, Pennsylvania, Penn State, Princeton, Syracuse, Virginia, and Yale.
