Lloyd Harper's high-flying Junor Varsity baseball club will be shooting for its ninth straight victory this afternoon when it opens fire on the Springfield nine. The contest is scheduled for the Soldiers Field diamond at 4 o'clock.

Harper's ace pitcher, Langdon Clay, should be ready to go today. Behind the plate will be Chuck Kenny, filling in for Web Durant, who saw Varsity action over the weekend while Armie Essayen was ailing with a pulled leg muscle. The rest of the infield will include Bud Gibbs, Fred Dunn, Hal Moffle, and John Chase, Dunn, of West Hartford, Connecticut and Lowell House, was recently elected captain of the Jayvee nine.

The Freshmen, who get back into action tomorrow against Northeastern on Soldiers Field, elected Ernest E. Monrad '51, of Hollis Hall and Phoenix, Arizona, as manager.
