Brinton Dooms World State

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

"A United States of the World is impossible in our times--" that's the statement that Craue C. Brinton '19, McLean Professor of Ancient and Modern History, made yesterday.

Brinton, in his newest book, "From many One," added that he felt that "if the historian were to turn book-maker, he would be obliged to say that the odds against the world federationalists are prohibitive and astronomical."

Perfectionists

In view of those facts, he warns, "perfectionists" who hope to bring about this federalization in the near future "ought to be combatted, not embraced as allies, by all who hope to further good life on this earth."

"But finally," he concluded, "I do not think that these extremists are being taken too seriously. I do not really believe that even atomic war will do all the damage that they promise, in finishing off so tough an organism as man."
