Swimmers Meet Undefeated Brown Team at Providence

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Hal Ulen will stand pat on his lineup for the varsity swimming team's second meet of the year against Brown in Providence at 8 p.m. tonight, but this need not be taken as a sign of overconfidence. The Bruins, undefeated after four meets, boasting a close decision over the strong Army outfit, are considered the best squad in Brown history.

The Crimson starters will be the same as in the M.I.T. rout, but this time only the 100 and 220-yard freestyle races and the dive are rated as sure victories by Ulen:

Breaststrokers Chuck Hoelzer and Larry Ward are up against stiff opposition in the Bruins' Milt Bryer and Don Gray, while Tom Wood will face Bill Patrell, who has recently shattered all Brown backstroke records.

In the 300-yard medley relay, Brown was clocked in 3:03 to nip Army. The Crimson has done about the same, Ulen said.
