Hyde Onside on TD Play, Movies Establish

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dick Hyde was not offside when John White scored what would have been Harvard's second touchdown in the Columbia game. This became evident in the game movies shown to a sparse New Lecture Hall gathering last night. Last Saturday the head linesman called the play back, claiming Hyde crossed the line of scrimmage before the ball was snapped.

Hyde broke early on the disputed play but he had not crossed the line when the ball was centered.

The films, which also included last year's Yale game, comprised the second program in the current Student Council Forum series. Before they were shown, William J. Bingham '16, Director of Athletics, outlined the Harvard athletic program and the functions of the HAA.

The pictures bore out Art Valpey's statement that Harvard played one of its hardest-hitting games last Saturday.
