This CRIMSON stock cut of Kirtley F. Mather, professor of Geology, took first prize in the Photography Society's semi-annual photography contest last night.
The college-wide competition drew 89 entries. Louis W. Baker '50, won first and fourth prizes, while Jacques E. Levy '50, chairman of the CRIMSON Photographic Board took second prize. Lawrence R. Zeltlin '51, another of the CRIMSON's photographers won third prize and Summer I. Zacks '51, received the fifth award.
The salon will go on exhibit in Lamont today.
The second prize picture by Levy was an action shot taken at the first Dartmouth hockey game in the Boston Arena last year. Zoitlin's third prize photograph showed a Harvard diver doing a backward somersault.
The contest was judged by three representatives of the Boston Camera Club of Newbury Street. Eight of the 11 awards went to members of the CRIMSON photographic staff.
