Bunnies Beat Gold Coasters As Eliot Wins

Leverett beat an undefeated Adams House team, 6 to 0, yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field in the biggest upset of the House football season. Meanwhile, unbeaten Eliot did just what it was expected to do by running its streak with a 27 to 0 victory over Dudley.

The Bunnies, who have won four in a row, grabbed their slim lead early in the second period when Jerry Galle spun off end on a reverse and ran ten yards to score. Except for this lone tally, Leverett's attack begged down despite fine running by Jim Wykoff and Fabian Bradbury, which often kept the Bunnies in Adams territory.

It was the Leverett line which, by outblocking and out-maneuvering the vaunted Gold Coast front, engineered the upset. The peak of the Bunny defensive play came late in the third quarter when the line froze an Adams threat on the Leverett four yard line.

Eliot's smooth T attack, though stymied a number of times by the scrappy Commuters in the second period, showed its usual display of scoring plays. The Elephants displayed their power in the first minute of the game after Rick Budner ran the opening kickoff 50 yards to the Commuter ten. Two plays later Pete Reiner went off left end to score standing up.

The Elephants picked up an easy second touchdown when the Commuters fumbled on the six and Reiner scored off tackled on the next play.
