Congressional Inquiries Get Law Forum Review Tonight

Two congressmen, a journalist, and a prominent, New York attorney will mull over the problem, "How Can We Improve Congressional Investigation?" when the Law School Forum swings into its spring term program at 8 p.m. in the Rindge Tech auditorium.

Senator Homer Ferguson of Michigan, Edward Hebert, Representative from Louisiana, Richard Lee Strout, veteran Washington correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor, and Allen T. Klots, of the American Bar Association will do the speaking. Mark De Wolfo 28, professor of Law will serve as moderator.

Investigator, Par Excellence

Forguson was one of the few Republican survivors of the Democratic landslide in the recent election. He has served for some years on the Senate Investigating Committee on Defense Expenditures and will bring personal experience into his analysis of Congressional investigating techniques.

Hebert, a former member of the House Un-American Activities Committee, attacked that body while still active on it. He is expected to reiterate his criticisms of the investigating group tonight.

After 10 years of observing it in action, Strout will cover the Committee from the point of view of its personnel.

Klots is a member of an American Bar Association committee that is examining congressional investigation procedures. He will offer positive suggestions for improving hearings in the future.
