Squash Squad to Meet West Point Team Here Today

Revenge may be the motif at Hemenway Gymnasium today when the varsity squash team meets the racquets players from West Point. Last year the Cadets barely beat the Crimson, 5 to 4.

Coach Jack Barnaby has never felt that the 1948 contest was conclusive, since Army won the crucial sets by only one or two points.

But today's match will be wide open. New men will be playing each other because June graduations took experienced players from both coaches. Barnaby said yesterday that on paper the match will be a very close one.

Foster vs. Oliver is Big Attraction

The big show will be a duel between the Crimson's Henry Foster and Army's Charley Oliver. Oliver is currently a ranking players in intercollegiate squash. Last December he eliminated the best college players to finish second in the Union Boat Club's squash tournament.

Henry Foster, a sophomore, rose last fall like a rocket from the freshman squad to his brother Adam's former number one position on the varsity. He will match his skill and natural ability against Oliver's accurate placement shots.

Spectators will also see other close sets. Both teams have depth and Barnaby is proud because his squad "didn't fall apart during vacation."
