Lowell's swimming team won the House championship last night and finished the reason undefeated by beating Winthrop 32 1/2 to lb 1/2 and Adams 2b to 23 in a three cornered meet.
Bellboys Pem Hart, Al Weatherhead and Paul Killoran in the freestyle, and Jeff Moore in the backstroke excelled as usual, while Hart and Dave Ayers upheld Lowell's superiority in the breast stroke. Adams took second in the meet, defeating Winthrop 26 to 22.
Final standings for the year were: Lowell (7-0), Leverett and Eliot (5-2), Kirkland (3-3-1), Winthrop (3-4), Adams (2-4-1), Dunster (2-5), Dudley (0-7).
Basketball Finale
House basketball also ended up last night. In the A League Winthrop easily rode over Leverett 46 to 35 to win third place, and Kirkland downed Adams 44 to 37 to finish in a tie for fourth with Eliot. Kirkland secured the B League championship by beating Adams 40 to 33, while Winthrop defeated Leverett 35 to 29.
Final standings were: A League, Lowell (11-3), Dudley (10-4), Winthrop (8-6), Kirkland and Eliot (7-7), Adams (6-8), Dunster (4-10), Leverett (3-11); B League, Kirkland (12-2), Adams (10-4), Winthrop and Dunster (9-5), Dudley (7-(1-13).
Semi-finals in the College wrestling tournament were run off yesterday with the finals scheduled for 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Indoor Athletic Building.
