David M. Little '18 will be on leave of absence for the first half of the academic year 1949-50 from his position as Secretary to the University and Master of Adams House, it was announced yesterday. During his absence, Philip Hofer '21, Curator of Printing and Graphic Arts and an associate of Adams House, will replace him as acting master. Little's job as Secretary will be handled by other members of the Massachusetts Hall staff.

Little's plans include a trip to San Francisco next September for the annual meeting of the Associated Harvard Clubs, and a tentative journey to England later in the fall. He will also complete work on a compilation of David Garrick's letters.

Little will return to his posts at the College in February, 1950. Hofer became an associate of Adams House in 1938, and during the war was assistant to Dean Donald K. David of the Business School.
