Lowell Nine Nips Kirkland as Eliot Loses to Adams

Lowell and Adams remained the only unbeaten teams in House baseball yesterday as the Bellboys gleaned their fourth victory by nosing out Kirkland, 2 to 1, and the Gold Coasters scored their third win by edging Eliot, 8 to 7.

Lowell caginess again made the difference: a stolen base figured in each of the Bellboys' score-producing attacks. In the fifth inning Fred Donahoe, Lowell first-baseman, reached first on a bunt, stole second and third, and scored as Harry McKean grounded out. John Goldsmith scored the other Lowell run in the sixth on a delayed steal home.

Deacon's Triple Scores Run

A triple by Ed Smith and a single by Bob Kierstead in the final frame accounted for Kirkland's only run.

Adams, possessor of the top pitcher of the House League, Roger Davis, came up with another good hurler yesterday. He is Herb Mercer, and his 15 strike-out total was the deciding factor in the win over Eliot.

The Goldcoasters hit their best of the season. Fred Crafts slammed a homer with one on, and Mercer hit a triple.

In softball Dudley slid by Winthrop, 4 to 3, and Leverett smashed Dunster, 26 to 9.

Kirkland forfeited to Dudley, and Leverett forfeited to Adams in tennis.

In golf Dunster forfeited to Lowell, and Dudley forfeited to Leverett, while Eliot defeated Kirkland. 31/2 to 21/2, and Winthrop blanked Adams, 6 to 0.
