Crosby to Quit Bed by Friday

Clif Crosby, varsity catcher injured in the first inning of Monday's game with Yale, will be released from New Haven Hospital late Thursday or early Friday.

Crosby was reported late today "to be in excellent condition." His partially punctured right lung was still bothering him but he was able to sit up and move about his room. If his improvement continues he will be released later in the week and will return to his home.

A collision at home plate as Crosby tagged out Bob James in the first inning had caused the injury. The varsity catcher was removed to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed the injury as a broken rib and a severely punctured lung. They placed Crosby in an oxygen tent and forecast that he could not be moved from it for at least three days.
