Today is the centennial of Harvard Illinois.
In commemoration of the vent the picturesque little dairy town is staging a "Milk Day" celebration to be high lighted by the award of a Harvard honorary degree to its best cow. The degree is M. D., Dector of Milk.
The town's Chamber of Commerce recently wired President Conant, beseeching him to select the cow-to-be honored.
In accordance with the traditional University procedure of keeping secret the names of honorary degree recipients beforehand, Massachusetts Hall yesterday refused to comment on what will happen in Harvard, Illinois today.
But no matter which cow, be the Guernsey or Swiss Brown, receives the years first Harvard honorary degree the town's 3000 inhabitants will have a barrel of fun.
