'53 Asks Return of Prescott St. Dining

Petitions calling for a resumption of service in the Prescott Street dining room of the Freshman Union have come to the attention of William A. Heaman, manager of the dining service, but no immediate change in Thursday's closing order is contemplated.

"This is still in the nature of an experiment," Heaman said last night, "because we must find some method to cut operating costs." There are only 912 freshmen eating at the Union this year as compared to 1,116 last year, Heaman pointed out.

Sponsors of the petitions mounted on the Union bulletin board are Eliot Miltenberger '53 and John Howie '53, both of Thayer Hall. Over 150 signatures have been collected and the pair indicated they would present the petitions formally in the near future.
