Humphrey Heidtmann's decision in the heavyweight match gave the varsity wrestlers a 20 to 15 victory over B.U. in the Blockhouse Saturday, while Howie Houston's freshmen swarmed all over the U.S. Naval School of Newport, 33 to 7.

The score was 17 to 15 going into the final varsity bout, but there was little doubt concerning Heidtmann's superiority. He recorded three takedowns and an escape to gain an easy decision.

Harvard's lightweights again gave the Crimson a sizeable lead, but the match became close when Dick Myerson--B.U.'s most capable wrestler--decisioned at 147, Bob Joslin pinned Ted Anderson, Joe Hubbard and Walt Gorman drew at 167, and Jim Kacavas--another experienced man--pinned Frank Dunbaugh. Johnny Lee, at 123, once again gave a polished exhibition and Hubbard, who trailed, 6 to 1, at one point, should be commended for working his way back to a draw.

The freshmen scored 26 points before the men from Newport could rally themselves. Oakleigh Thorne, Frank Lombardi, Myles Cunningham, and Dick Mortimer pinned; Chick Chandler and Steve Craig decisioned, the Naval School captain threw Phil Waring, Tony Caimi pinned at 191, and the two heavyweights drew.

The varsity summaries:

123--Lee (H) pinned Hayes with a bar arm and body press at 7:55; 130--Smith (H) pinned Rumpler with a double arm lock and body press at 2:17; 137--Adams (H) pinned McLoon with a double arm lock and body press at 1:05; 147--Myerson (B.U.) decisioned Iben, 11-2; 157--Joslin (B.U.) pinned Anderson with a half nelson and body press at 3:44; 167--Hubbard (H) and Gorman drew, 7-7; 177--Kacavas (B.U.) pinned Dunbaugh with a half nelson and body press at 4:54; unlimited--Heidtmann (H) decisioned Evans, 7-2.
