Lloyd J. Walker '50 and Robert W. Kratz '50 of the Debate Council defeated the New York University team yesterday in the Leverett House Common Room. Defending the negative of "Resolved, That basic non-agricultural industries of the United States be nationalized," the Crimson received the judge's nod over Gerald Abraham and Oscar Sotky of NYU.

The victory was the Debate Council's twentieth of the 1949-50 season as against 12 defeats.

Both Walker and Kratz will participate in the invitational Debate Tournament which will be held at Boston University Friday and Saturday of this week. Most of the colleges and universities in the Boston area, as well as some from New York, will be represented in the Tournament which will be on the same nationalization topic.
