House Wrestling Tourney Delayed; Too Many Appear

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Too many entries in two weight classes forced the temporary postponement of the House and Freshman Wrestling tournaments scheduled for yesterday afternoon.

Adolph W. Samborski, director of Intramural Athletics, ordered the first-round bouts put off until today because "an exceptionally large number of men in the 155 and 191 pound classes." These are the largest tournaments ever, he said.

Many of the 155 and 191 pound entrants weighed in just before the deadline, said Samborski, and it was impossible to match them properly in such a short time. However, room will be made for every entrant. Samborski now hopes to be able to run the semi-final round tomorrow afternoon and the finals Thursday night.

Fifty-eight men have entered the House tournament, and 35 will contest for freshman honors.
