‘The Architect of the Whole Plan’: Harvard Law Graduate Ken Chesebro’s Path to Jan. 6
To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
On general principles I approve wholeheartedly of your editorial concerning the unfair discrimination against the crew during spring vacation: namely, the fact that they had to sustain themselves while staying here in Cambridge for practice.
However, why did you limit yourselves to mention only the crew? Both the varsity and freshman baseball squads --50 men--remained in Cambridge for practice and also had to pay for own meals.
Baseball is said to be national sport, but here at Harvard it seems to be grossly neglected. . . One of the reasons given by the Athletic Association for not sustaining us was the lack of funds. This lack of funds was a result of a lack of attendance at Harvard sporting events. A lack of attendance in the spring sports is a result of a lack of interest; a lack of interest is due to a lack of publicity. A lack of publicity is due to the public relations department, the press, etc.... Hugh C. Foster '49 Varsity Baseball Manager
