Freshmen nominated 36 members of their class for positions on the Student Council at a meeting in the Union last night. Student Council President Edward F. Burke '50 and Chase N. Peterson '52 presided over the nominations.
Each nominee must file a petition hearing 25 names. The deadline for petitions is Tuesday night, and the nominees are free to start campaigning as soon as their petitions are completed.
Election on May 2
Rules for campaigning will be posted in the Union. In addition to the petition, each candidate must submit a biography to the Student Council office in Phillips Brooks House. Voting, which will be run according to the "preferential system," will be held May 2.

Waverly R. Beall, Ernest T. Berkley, Jr., David G. Black, Gordon L. Brumm, Richard L. Bushman, Ronald M. Chumaceiro, Augustus W. Clapp, 3rd, and James Constans.
Also, Thomas D. Edwards, Richard S. Field, Dean A. Hanson, John S. Hermann, I. Austin Heyman, Jr., Thomas W. Hoya, Richard E. Johnson, John G. Kelso, Charles P. MacVeagh, Thomas J. Madden, Jr., Ralph J. Maffel, and Jerry H. Miller.
Also, Hugh L. Moffet, Curtis F. Peterson, Richard T. Povill, Nicholas Reinhardt, Allen N. Rieselbach, David Royce, Bengt G. Sandberg, Harry L. Senger, Julian L. Simon, Arthur A. Sloane, A. Lyle Starr, Arthur J. Stroebel, Philip H. Vivian, Jr., Walter E. Wolf, Joel M. Wolfson, and Michael G. Yamin.
