The freshman tennis team played better than any recent Yardling squad against the College Grads here Saturday, but still could take only one match.
Captain Charlie Ufford put up a good fight against Summer Rodney, winning the second set and barely losing the third to the ranking New England player.
Art French also ran his match out to three sets. Harry Hatton, Berk Johnson, and Bill Harrington didn't give the alumni too much trouble, but Paul Trinchieri played his best match of the season, losing 6-4, 6-4 to Bob Joslin.
Ufford and French scored the Yardlings' only point, winning the first doubles match. Meanwhile, the freshman "B" team beat Milton on the losers' courts, 5 to 4.
