Berman, Mikkola Agree on Entries InInvitation Runs

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Ronnie Berman, the Crimson middle-distance runner who turned in the top performance of his career in the Knights of Columbus meet Saturday, and Coach Jaakko Mikkola have reached a satisfactory agreement on Berman's future entry into invitation 600-yard runs.

After finishing third in the Knights of Columbus Prout 600, Berman was anxious to complete in other national invitation races. Mikkola immediately expressed the opinion publicly, however, that a young runner could burn, himself out early against the professional-quality talent in invitation events. The coach also wanted Berman to keep himself at peak form for the Crimson mile relay team.

Berman will reject any offers to run the 600 in the Millrose Games Saturday in New York or in the B.A.A. meet the following weekend. He will enter the event in the Heptagonal, the IC4A, and in one invitation race later in the season in New York, possibly the New York K of C.
