Holdup, Fire, Gas Disturb Weekend

A four-car collision, a gas leak at Radcliffe, and a hot-dog holdup punctuated the weekend in Cambridge.

Milton Baker '53 was robbed of $2 by two unidentified bandits who bought him a Frankfort in return. They forced an entrance into his car while he was parked at Radcliffe, ordered him to drive them around greater Boston for several hours, and subsequently vanished. Police, after inquiring into Baker's health, accepted the story and are at present investigating.

Four autos were seriously damaged when a green 1950 Oldsmobile skidded at the traffic circle off Massachusetts Avenue near Quincy Street and careened into the wall opposite Lamont Library. The other cars were parked along Massachusetts Avenue.

Leaking gas fumes from a Radcliffe building at 6 Appian way sent the fire department scurrying to the Annex yesterday. There was no are, however, and the Cambridge Gas and Electric Company soon shut off the leak.
