The announcement of a schedule for the Boston Symphony's series of rehearsals open to students awaits action of the Senate Finance Committee. Orchestra officials stated last night.
The Orchestra is hoping that the Committee will vote to remove the present tax on Symphony tickets. This would reduce prices for students and money now going to Washington could be used to produce extra concerts. Officials at Symphony Hall believe that the Senate will take favorable action soon.
Last year was the first in which any Orchestra rehearsal was opened to paying visitors. The experiment was started in answer to student pressure.
