Moonshine Found in Houses; Police Have 'Heard Reports'

Several Stills Known to Be in Operation for Two Months; Police Emphasize Illegality

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Several illegal moonshiners have been operating within the Houses, the CRIMSON learned last night. Three stills have definitely been in operation during the past two months, while four others have been reported but as yet have not been uncovered.

Cambridge police last night denied any knowledge of the moonshining but did say that they had heard reports of the illegal operations within the last two weeks. The police emphasized that the setting up of any still was against both Federal and State law and was subject to heavy penalty. The University has not been forced to take action against moonshiners within recent years.

As far as the CRIMSON could learn. none of the illegally made liquor has been sold nor has any illness resulted from the home-made brew.
