John H. Crider a Nieman Fellow in 1940-41, yesterday resigned as chief editorial writer of the Boston Herald in a surprise move. Last night, he said that the resignation had stemmed from the refusal of Publisher Robert B. Choate '20 to print his review of Senator Taft's recent book. "Foreign Policy for Americans."
Admitting his preference for General Eisenhower as president. Crider claimed that the review was a completely fair one.
He said that he "urged a wide reading of the book, but I advised readers to be discerning and warned them that the book is full of boody traps."
