Only 59 March Grads

College News in Brief

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The smallest mid-year graduating class in several years will receive only 59 degrees on March 10, the Registrar's office announced yesterday. The number of March degrees numbered 117 in 1951, 335 in 1950, and 448 in 1949.

The downward trend in mid-year graduates is attributed to the marked decrease of veteran enrollment in the College. Since veterans are no longer a large factor in the undergraduate body, the war-born practice of facilitating degree-taking has become unnecessary.

General Examinations, given three times a year until 1947-48, were administered twice a year until last spring.
