Now Radcliffe girls are adding military service to their hobbies.
A "considerable" number of girls are applying for the Navy Reserve Officer Candidate summer training program, according to Mrs. Shaw of the Radcliffe Employment Office. The office does not have an official list of the girls who are interested in the program, but Mrs. Shaw has observed many girls taking down the information from the bulletin board.
The girls who win enrollment in the R.O.C. (only 160 are accepted from the nation) will study Navigation, Personnel and General Administration, and Naval Customs at Great Lakes, Illinois for two summers.
Successful completion of the course plus a bachelor's degree put the student in line for a Naval Officer's Commission.
