Ed Schroeder of Dunster defeated Adams' Dick Kahn yesterday in the sabre finals of the House fencing championships, while Stoughton took both the freshman championship and runner-up berth when John Wright defeated John Chappell.
Dick Bushman of Kirkland and Guillermo Herrera of Lowell were the other semi-finalists in House sabre competition.
In the foils finals held Monday, Kirkland's John Hamel easily outclassed the field by defeating defending champion Dick Kahn in the semi-finals, 5 to 2, and John Pope of Eliot in the finals, 5 to 1. The epee competition will be held today.
Kirkland won the House swimming crown by defeating Adams yesterday afternoon, 25 to 23. Adams protested the meet when Kirkland delayed the start of the 100-yard freestyle in order to allow Hamel time to appear for the race. Hamel had an hour exam but arrived just as the race was about to begin. He won easily, but Adams representatives felt that Kirkland's delaying tactics were illegal and field a protest.
