Varsity Golf Team Defeats M.I.T., 6-1

The varsity golf team trimmed M.I.T. yesterday at the Oakley Country Club, 6 to 1. Captain Doug Wilde, who played in second position, lost the only match for the Crimson on the 17th hole.

Bill Timpson, in the sixth spot, shot a 74 to be medalist for Harvard. Number five man Mitch Rosenholtz beat his opponent most decisively by winning on the 14th hole.

The Summary: Burke (H) defeated MacDonald, 4 and 3; Grady (M.I.T.) defeated Wilde, 2 and 1; Gorman (H) defeated Chisholan, 2 and 1; Weissman (H) defeated Schoeffel, 3 and 2; Rosenholtz (H) defeated Hewitt, 5 and 4; Timpson (H) defeated Friedrich, 4 and 3; Lukins (H) defeated Parker, 4 and 3.
