Two Tennis Matches Cut Short by Rain

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A missed overhead on match point cost the freshman tennis team an easy victory in a rained-out match at Williams yesterday. The Yardlings were leading 4-0 and needed one more match to clinch the win, when number five man John Carollo knocked the smash out after leading 6-0, 3-6, 5-0.

The varsity match with the Ephmen was also rained out, with the teams tied, 1-1. Former national scholastic champion Dick Squires defeated Charlie Ufford at first singles. Five matches are necessary for a match to become official. Both will be replayed.
