Seniors Choose Eight Class Agents for Fund Campaign

Each House and the commuters will have seperate class agents for the first time, as the Class of '51 broke precedent yesterday and named eight men to solicit the class after graduation.

First Marshall David C. Skinner last night released the names of the eight who will raise money for the Fund Council, with the initial goal of $100,000 by the class' 25th reunion.

Last year's senior class had only three gents, and the largest any previous class had was four. The decision to have eight agents was made by the 1951 Permanent Class Committee which also selected the men who will serve.

The agents will mall personal letters to the seniors beginning next Wednesday. Last year 283 of the 1,646 seniors gave a total of $1,165 to the Fund Council.

Up to a class' 25th reunion, the College holds in trust all money the class agents raise, but spends the interest. The traditional $100,000 gift is to help make up the difference between what the class members paid for their education and its cost to Harvard.
