Nabokov Becomes Hum 2 Lecturer; New Courses Fixed for Next Term

Vladimir Nabokov, author of "Conclusive Evidence," "Bend Sinister," and several works on Gogol will visit the College next term to teach the big General Education course in Humanities 2, according to the list of spring course changes posted in the Houses yesterdays.

That announcement ends speculation that has been going on all year about who would teach the course on "Epic and Novel." Two years ago Professor Harry Levin '33 conducted the lectures, and last year it was Thornton Wilder. The first half is taught by Professor John H. Finley '25.

Nabokov came to the United States several years ago and has been teaching at Cornell ever since.

New Criminology Course

Other revelations on the Course Change list included a new course, not previously announced, in Criminology. The course will be Social Relations 169, and will come complete with field trips to local correctional agencies and case studies of juvenile delinquency.

Nine new graduate courses also have been added to the Faculty's offerings.
