Have the Police Got Your Number?

Local police have gone into the numbers racket: holders of lucky license numbers will have the privilege of bailing their cars out at five dollars apiece if police find them illegally parked.

One hundred and ten out-of-state plates appear on the police roster--cars which have already drawn unanswered traffic tickets, and are now fair game for the tow truck. The losers come from 29 states and Hawaii; record for torn-up tickets is held by the owner of a New York car which has piled up eight violations.
